Lighten Up Lenoir goes where you go with a site that adapts to any device (smartphone, laptop, tablet, or desktop)
Lighten Up Lenoir now helps you track your activity minutes. Along with your weight loss, you can now submit your activity minutes. The team with the most accumulated activity minutes will win prizes.
Already registered for last year’s competition? Begin weigh-ins again Monday September 21, 2015 (You are still registered, but you will be prompted to take the personal survey again)
Challenge yourself to join a team of 4, lose weight, get active, and get healthier. The challenge offers you two ways to win: lose the greatest percentage of weight loss and/or accumulate the most activity minutes. This gives you and your team the opportunity to win one or both categories.
After registering, log your current weight and activity minutes every day or once a week. Lighten Up Lenoir will keep track for you, and you can see your progress throughout the challenge with the Progress Tracker.

To join: Find three family members, friends or co-workers, gather everyone’s name and email. Come up with a “fun” team name and register here Lighten Up Lenoir
NOTE: IF YOU ARE JOINING WITH FELLOW EMPLOEES, MAKE SURE WHEN YOU REGISTER YOU INSERT YOUR ORGANIZATION’S NAME IN THE “ORGANIZATION” FIELD
If you need to change teams or remove yourself from your current team, go to the Progress Tracker and follow the instructions to remove yourself from your team and how to join another team or to participate as an individual
(To add yourself to an existing team, you will need the new TEAM ID. A team member of your new team can give you the TEAM ID.)
If you are an individual participant who wants to join an existing team go to the Progress Tracker and follow instructions to add yourself to an existing team. You will need the new TEAM ID. A team member of your new team can give you the TEAM ID
Note: Only a team member can delete a team member and only a team member can access the TEAM ID

How to win?
The Lighten UpLenoir team with the greatest percentage of weight-loss and/or the most accumulated fitness minutes over the 16-week challenge will win prizes. In order to win, you will need to submit your weight and fitness minutes on the Progress Tracker every week using your email address that you used to register for the challenge. You need to submit your weight and fitness minutes at least once a month.
NOTE: You can enter your weight and fitness minutes every day. If you make a mistake entering your weight or fitness minutes, just enter them again. The system will only count the last entries made to calculate your progress.

Q: Now that I’ve completed my registration, what do I do next?
-We recommend setting team and individual weight-loss goals.
-Decide what diet or eating plan (counting calories etc.) that you will use to make healthier eating choices.
-Review and choose from the diets listed on the Lighten Up Lenoir Healthy Eating page.
-Determine what fitness activity you would like to do to help you become more active track your fitness minutes (speak to your doctor before beginning any exercise program).
-Check out all of the exercise tips and free exercise videos on the Lighten Up Lenoir Exercise Page
-We suggest that you set up weekly meetings, recipe exchanges and exercise/walks with your team/teams.
-Make sure to check out all the great health events happening around town with Lighten Up Lenoir Local Events
Most importantly, we recommend supporting each other.

Q: If I competed in any of the previous Lighten UpLenoir challenges, do I need to sign up again for the 2015 challenge?
A: No, you don’t have to register again unless you are changing teams, but you will need to answer your profile survey again. If you were already registered you will be in the Lighten Up Lenoir database, but you will be prompted to answer the survey again.
Q: What prizes can I win?
The team that loses the greatest percentage of weight and/or accumulates the greatest amount of fitness minutes will win! Plus there is special prize for best team name!

Each session will be sponsored by the Kinston Free Press and they will award the best team name! The winners of the best team will win one group exercise training session for their team with Graham Brown, ES, Minges Wellness Center!
Each team member of the team that loses the greatest percentage of weight and/or accumulates the greatest amount of fitness minutes for each competition has a chance to win one of the following prizes:
Every team member gets a free individual subscription to PREVENTION Magazine and a gift certificate for each member to a cooking healthy class at Spice Bouquet in Kinston, with an additional Free Spice Bouquet Gift Box Collection Set for each team member.
A coupon for Chik-fil-A’s healthy menu choices.

The Lighten Up Lenoir program gives you resources to be successful, but it’s up to you to make the commitment to lose weight, become more active, and lead a healthier life.
Lighten Up Lenoir provides healthy diet and meal plans as well as recipes, exercise videos and tips, along with “healthy happenings” around town.
