Check out all of the event, classes, and run/walks going on in the community. Try a new exercise class, attend an event and learn about your health, or set a goal to walk a 5K. There are so many wonderful ways to get healthy, and have fun doing it. You might even find that you enjoy doing something you never would have imagined doing before.  Check back often because we will keep adding new things to do around town.

Lenoir Memorial Hospital Community Programs & Events such as Beginners Dance Classes, The Community Diabetes Nutrition Series, and Community-Wide Exercise Initiatives, can be viewed here or by calling 252-522-7014. More classes are available at the Minges Wellness Center, a medically-based community fitness facility has 58 pieces of exercise equipment with 25 group exercise classes weekly.

Gentle Tai Chi - Mondays and Fridays - Studies of tai chi support its effectiveness as an alternative exercise and as a form of meditative pain reduction that focuses on positive energy flows. it is reported that focusing the mind solely on the movements of the form helps to bring about a state of mental calm and clarity. Chi Times - practice your "forms" with our instructor. This 20 minute focused session on Wednesday at 12:15 p.m. Learn more here
